Description

The im16p8p is a prototype board that has been designed to fit on two adjacent
imod Ports. It can however also be mounted on other boards, like Vero Board, or Modtronix MicroX Prototype boards. An iMod port is basically just two rows of 8 pads, and is present on many Modtronix boards as a method of adding functionalty, for details, click here. This board has protyping space for adding custom circuitry, and space for a 8 pins, 3.5mm terminal block connector to be soldered on, like the TB08MP350 or TB08B-F350-W4.
For this board to be mounted onto a target board, two pin headers or press-fit pin headers have to be soldered onto it. They are soldered in the two iMod port connectors (two outer rows of 8 pads), as shown in this picture. These rows are spaced 1.6" (40.64mm) apart, which is the width of two adjacent iMod ports. Each row has 8 pins, 2.54mm (0.1") appart. It is recommended to use the following connectors:
Two HDR1X5PF-M254-30 5 pin male, 2.54mm, press-fit headers. These connectors are soldered onto the top 5 pads of the 8 pin connectors, as shown in this picture. By using a 5 pin, in stead of 8 pin, press-fit connector it is much easier inserting and removing the board from the target board. The top 5 pins of the iMod port contains the power, and signals required for most circuits.

For a prototyping solution, two HDR1X8-F254SWISS female headers can be soldered onto the target board, and two HDR1X8-M254SWISS 8 pin male, 2.54mm, pin headers onto this board. This will allow this board to easily be plugged into, and removed from the target board.

Presto SBC Boards
The im16p8p is part of the Modtronix Presto iMod product range.

The im16p8p has two rows of press-fit connectors on the bottom of the board. They can be pressed into 1.00mm holes on a 1.6mm thick (standard PCB thickness) target board. No special tool is required, they can be inserted by applying firm pressure to the connectors. Once fitted to the target board, the board is very secure, and can not be removed by hand any more. A screwdriver or similar tool can be used to remove the board if required. If the im16p8p is to be soldered onto the target board, 1.10mm holes can be used. This will allow it to be inserted much easier than with 1.00mm holes. When using 1.10mm holes, the board can be removed by hand.

It has been designed to be mounted on two adjacent iMod Ports, but can also be mounted on other boards, like Vero Board, or Modtronix MicroX Prototype boards. It has space for a 8 pin, 3.5mm terminal block connector like the TB08MP350 or TB350-08P.

Description

The PT24I-KIT is a prototype daughter board for our Presto range of SBC Main Boards. It plugs into the daughter board connector of the SBC (Single Board Computer) Main Board, and makes all signals available for use on the prototyping area. It is in kit form, and has not been assembled! It consists out of the PCB, with two 12 pin connectors. The only thing that has to be done is solder the two connectors onto the PCB.
