6 Foot Sub-D female 9 pin to Sub-D female 9 pin null modem serial cable.CAD$5.70 In Stock

center

Description

6 Foot Sub-D female 9 pin to Sub-D female 9 pin null modem serial cable. This cable has a Sub-D (D-Sub) 9 pin female connector on each end. Both sides of this cable connects to a male Sub-D communication port (DTE) of a target device, like a personal computer or Modtronix RS232 board. It can for example be used to enable a Modtronix SBC with RS232 interface to communicate with a personal computer. The transmit and receive wires are crossed, to enable two DTE devices to communicate with each other. The wiring is as follows:
Pin 2 or connector 1 <--> Pin 3 of connector 2
Pin 3 or connector 1 <--> Pin 2 of connector 2
Pin 5 or connector 1 <--> Pin 5 of connector 2

Some examples of where it can be used are:
Connecting the SBC44B to the serial port of a PC. This will enable these two devices to communicate with each other. It can also be used to program the SBC44B if it is loaded with a bootloader.
Connecting the SBC18DC to the serial port of a PC. This will enable these two devices to communicate with each other. It can also be used to program the SBC18DC if it is loaded with a bootloader.

Description

6 Foot Sub-D female 9 pin to Sub-D male 9 pin serial cable. This cable has a Sub-D (D-Sub) 9 pin female connector on one end and a Sub-D 9 pin male connector on the other end. One end of this cable connects to a male Sub-D communication port (DTE), and the other end to a female Sub-D communication port (DCE). It can for example be used to enable a Modtronix SBC with RS232 interface to communicate with a DCE device. The wiring is as follows:
Pin 2 or connector 1 <--> Pin 2 of connector 2
Pin 3 or connector 1 <--> Pin 3 of connector 2
Pin 5 or connector 1 <--> Pin 5 of connector 2

It can for example be used to enable a MicroX Main Board to communicate with a personal computer. When connected to a MicroX Main Board, the following signals will be present on the Sub-D female connector.
Pin 2 - Transmit data (RS232 levels)
Pin 3 - Receive data (RS232 levels)
Pin 5 - Ground

CAB8M6FT

Serial Cable with RJ-45 plug, and D-Sub 9 pin female connector, 1.8m long.CAD$5.70 In Stock

center

Click here for larger image

Description

This is a 1,8m (6 Foot) Serial Cable with RJ-45 plug on one end, and D-Sub 9 pin female connector on other end.
This cable enables a Modtronix device with a RJ-45 RS232 communications port to be connected to the RS232 communications port (D-Sub 9 pin male connector) of a DTE device, like a PC for example. The one end of this cable plugs into the RJ-45 port of the Modtronix device, and the other end to the DTE device's Male DB-9 connector.
All Modtronix devices with RS232 DB-9 Male connectors are DTE devices. A PC is also a DTE device. This cable can be used to connect a Modtronix device with RJ-45 RS232 Communication port to a PC.
The CAB8M6FT datasheet can be downloaded here.
This cable is similar to the Moxa CBL-RJ45F9-150 cable. The Moxa cable has two extra wires, one for DSR (RJ-45 pin 1 and D-Sub pin 4), and one for DTR (RJ-45 pin 8 and D-Sub pin 6). Most modern equipment do not use the DSR and DTR signals any more, and they are not required. Modtronix devices with RJ-45 RS232 ports can use either of these two cables, and do not use the DSR and DTR signals.
