MicroX Interface Boards
BUS2S-485 | RS485 Frontend expansion board. | CAD$9.95 In Stock |
|
Description
The BUS2S-485 is a RS485 Frontend expansion board. When connected to the Frontend port of a compatible MicroX SBC board it will add a RS485 interface to it. For a list of compatible SBC boards see the Expansion section below. It is supplied with a 5 pin 3.81mm screw type terminal block plug and SP485EC driver chip as show in the picture. The RS485 bus signals, ground and optionally (selected via straps) the positive supply are made available on a 5 pin 3.81mm terminal block connector. See the datasheet for details. A 3mm red LED is connected to the Frontend connector signal B6. When plugged into a SBC board, this signal is routed to PIC port pin RB6. The user application running on the MicroX SBC board can control this LED via port pin RB6. This board can also be used as a CAN BUS expansion board. For this to work, the RS485 driver IC must be removed (IC1), and a CAN BUS driver must be inserted into socket IC2. The MCP2551 CAN BUS driver chip can be used. A PIC chip with a onboard CAN driver must of course be used - like the PIC18F458.Expansion
The BUS2S-485 board can be connected to the Frontend port of a compatible MicroX SBC board to add a RS485 interface to it. For this to work: The MicroX SBC board must have a PIC chip with an interal USART assembled. The PIC chips USART port pins must NOT be driven by circuitry on the MicroX SBC board. Currently the following MicroX SBC board can be used: SBC45EC - When using the SBC45EC, make sure that solder jumpers SJ1 and SJ2 are made, and SJ3 and SJ4 are open! The SBC45EC has SJ3 and SJ4 made by default! After connecting this board to the SBC45EC’s Frontend connector, the RS485 bus can read and written to via the PICs USART. This combination of boards can be used to implement a RS485 to FTP, RS485 to UDP and many other types of interface converters. BUS2S-CAN | CAN Bus Frontend expansion board. | CAD$9.95 In Stock |
|
Description
The BUS2S-CAN is a CAN Bus Frontend expansion board. When connected to the Frontend port of a compatible MicroX SBC board it will add a CAN Bus interface to it. For a list of compatible SBC boards see the Expansion section below. This board is used together with a Modtronix SBC board that is fitted with a CAN enabled PIC chip. Examples of compatible SBC boards with PIC chips are: SBC28PC-IR2 fitted with the PIC18F258 chip. SBC45EC fitted with PIC18F458 chip It is supplied with a 5 pin 3.81mm screw type terminal block plug and a CAN Bus driver chip as show in the picture. The CAN Bus signals, ground and optionally (selected via straps) the positive supply are made available on a 5 pin 3.81mm terminal block connector. See the datasheet for details. A 3mm red LED is connected to the Frontend connector signal B6. When plugged into a SBC board, this signal is routed to PIC port pin RB6. The user application running on the MicroX SBC board can control this LED via port pin RB6.Expansion
The BUS2S-CAN board can be connected to the Frontend port of a compatible MicroX SBC board to add a CAN Bus interface to it. For this to work: The MicroX SBC board must have a PIC chip with an CAN Bus peripheral assembled. The PIC chips CAN Bus port pins must NOT be driven by circuitry on the MicroX SBC board.
